Salaries range from EUR 36,000 for postdoctoral researchers to EUR 90,000+ for R&D directors in chemical companies. Key employers include BASF, Evonik, Solvay, Novozymes, and a growing ecosystem of bio-based materials start-ups.

Key Responsibilities

• Design chemical processes that minimise hazardous reagents and waste

Required Education

• Laboratory skills and experience with analytical instrumentation
