Carbon Credit

A carbon credit is a tradeable certificate representing the right to emit one metric ton of carbon dioxide or its equivalent in other greenhouse gases. Credits are generated by projects that reduce, avoid, or remove emissions, such as reforestation or renewable energy installations.
