Climate Risk & Transition Analyst
About the Position
Axpo Group is Switzerlandβs largest producer of renewable energy and a leading European energy trader. Our Madrid hub houses our growing Iberian trading and analytics team. We are hiring a Climate Risk & Transition Analyst to assess physical and transition climate risks across our European energy portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop climate risk models assessing physical hazards (drought, flooding, extreme heat) on energy assets
- Conduct transition risk analysis aligned with TCFD and EU Taxonomy requirements
- Build scenario analyses for 1.5C, 2C, and 3C warming pathways and their impact on energy markets
- Support the development of Axpoβs climate-related financial disclosures
What Youβll Work On
- Quantifying climate risk across Axpoβs 4 GW+ portfolio of hydro, wind, and solar assets
- Building internal carbon pricing models
- Advising business units on climate risk mitigation strategies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in climate risk, ESG analytics, or energy market analysis - Strong quantitative skills (Python, R, or MATLAB) - Knowledge of TCFD, EU Taxonomy, and climate scenario methodologies (NGFS, IEA) - Understanding of European energy markets and power price dynamics - Master's degree in climate science, finance, economics, or environmental engineering
