Senior Fuel Cell Engineer

As a Senior Fuel Cell Engineer, you will drive improvements in cell and stack performance, durability, and manufacturing yield. You will perform in-depth failure analysis and work with cross-functional teams to implement design and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead failure analysis investigations on fuel cell components to determine root causes of degradation and failure
- Develop and validate new cell and stack designs for improved performance and longevity
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize ceramic processing and stack assembly
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate new materials and coatings
- Present technical findings to leadership and contribute to IP development

- Extending fuel cell stack lifetime through advanced materials development
- Reducing manufacturing costs while maintaining or improving cell performance
- Supporting qualification of hydrogen-compatible fuel cell designs
- Developing predictive degradation models using field and laboratory data
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Electrochemistry
- 5+ years of experience in solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) development or manufacturing
- Experience with failure analysis techniques (SEM, XRD, EDS, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy)
- Strong understanding of ceramic processing and thin-film deposition
- Proficiency in DOE methodologies and statistical analysis tools
