What Is Green Hydrogen?

Green hydrogen is hydrogen produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable electricity through a process called electrolysis. Unlike grey hydrogen (from natural gas) or blue hydrogen (with carbon capture), green hydrogen produces zero direct carbon emissions. It is seen as a critical piece of the decarbonization puzzle for sectors that are difficult to electrify, such as heavy industry, shipping, and aviation.
