Scope 2 Emissions

Scope 2 emissions are indirect greenhouse gas emissions from the generation of purchased energy - electricity, steam, heating, and cooling - consumed by an organisation. They are reported under the GHG Protocol and can be calculated using a location-based method (reflecting the average grid emissions intensity) or a market-based method (reflecting specific electricity contracts such as renewable energy certificates).
