Senior Associate - Energy Marketing & PPAs
About the Position
Mainstream Renewable Power is a global leader in utility-scale wind and solar energy, with a strong and growing presence across Africa. As Senior Associate for Energy Marketing and PPAs, you will play a critical role in structuring and marketing the power purchase agreements that underpin the African renewable energy transition.
Responsibilities
- Structure and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs) for Mainstream’s wind and solar projects in Africa
- Analyze energy market conditions, offtake risk, and counterparty creditworthiness
- Support origination of new commercial opportunities in Southern Africa and beyond
- Prepare commercial proposals, financial models, and board presentations
- Build and maintain relationships with utilities, independent power producers, and off-takers

This is a hybrid role based in Cape Town, one of Africa’s most vibrant cities, within a global renewable energy company with operations across four continents.
Requirements
- 4-7 years of experience in energy markets, PPA origination, or renewable energy finance - Strong understanding of power purchase agreement structures and energy market dynamics - Experience in the African energy sector preferred, particularly Southern Africa - Proficiency in financial modeling and commercial analysis - Excellent communication and negotiation skills
