Senior Engineer, Renewables Performance
About the Position

As a Senior Engineer for Renewables Performance at Indianapolis Power and Light (IPL), an AES company, you will drive optimization across AES’s solar and wind portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize generation performance across solar and wind assets
- Develop predictive maintenance strategies and performance benchmarks
- Analyze operational data to identify underperformance causes and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with asset management, operations, and engineering teams to maximize asset value
- Support due diligence for new renewable energy projects and acquisitions

Working with a world-class team, you will apply data analysis, engineering judgment, and operational expertise to maximize clean energy generation from a large, diverse portfolio.
This is an on-site role based in Indianapolis, Indiana, offering the resources and reach of a Fortune 500 global energy company.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience in renewable energy, with focus on solar or wind - Proficiency in performance analysis tools and SCADA systems - Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., PVsyst, WAsP, or similar) - Strong data analysis skills; proficiency in Python, R, or similar tools preferred - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering
