As a Solar and Storage Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of utility-scale solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems. You will ensure maximum system availability and performance at assigned project sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar PV arrays, inverters, and battery storage systems
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and SCADA data
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Coordinate with remote operations centers and engineering teams on system optimization
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in the CMMS
What You’ll Work On
- Maintaining and optimizing utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities across the Southeast US
- Implementing predictive maintenance strategies using performance monitoring data
- Supporting commissioning of new solar and storage projects
- Contributing to NextEra’s goal of zero-incident safety culture
Requirements
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience maintaining solar PV systems or battery energy storage systems
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety standards
- Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, inverters, and SCADA systems
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites
