Green Hydrogen Project Manager
About the Position
Iberdrola is a global energy leader and one of the worldβs largest producers of wind energy. The company is investing heavily in green hydrogen as a key pillar of its decarbonization strategy, with plans to develop 4 GW of electrolyzer capacity by 2030.
As Green Hydrogen Project Manager, you will lead the development and execution of large-scale green hydrogen production facilities across Spain. You will manage all phases from feasibility study through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead project execution for green hydrogen facilities with capacities of 20-100 MW
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers
- Coordinate with technology providers, EPC contractors, and offtake partners
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Report project progress to steering committees and senior management

- Delivering Iberdrolaβs flagship green hydrogen project in the Basque Country
- Evaluating and selecting electrolyzer technologies for new projects
- Developing hydrogen offtake agreements with industrial customers
- Structuring EU funding applications for green hydrogen initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in industrial project management
- Knowledge of electrolysis technologies (PEM, alkaline, SOEC)
- Experience with EPC contract management and CAPEX project delivery
- Fluent in Spanish and English
