About the Position
Octopus Energy is leading the UK’s heat pump revolution, aiming to install thousands of air-source and ground-source heat pumps annually as part of the country’s push to decarbonize home heating. The Octopus Energy Services division handles installations from survey through commissioning, delivering exceptional customer experiences.
As a Heat Pump Installation Lead, you will manage small installation teams and oversee the end-to-end installation of heat pump systems in residential and small commercial properties across the Manchester region. You will ensure installations meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise teams of 2-3 installers on heat pump installation projects
- Conduct site surveys and design heat pump systems to meet customer heating demands
- Ensure all installations comply with MCS standards, building regulations, and manufacturer guidelines
- Commission systems, configure controls, and hand over to customers with full system training
- Mentor junior installers and apprentices in heat pump technology and best practices
What You’ll Work On
- Installing air-source heat pumps in a mix of new-build and retrofit residential properties
- Optimizing system designs for older UK housing stock with higher heat loss
- Piloting hybrid heat pump and existing boiler configurations
- Providing installation feedback to the product team to improve future system designs
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing and Heating
- MCS certification for heat pump installation
- 5+ years of experience in heating system installation, including heat pumps
- F-Gas certification (Category 1)
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regionally
