Botanist / Plant Ecologist
About the Position
Midwest Natural Resources is a leading ecological field services and environmental consulting firm serving clients throughout the Upper Midwest. We are seeking an experienced Botanist or Plant Ecologist to join our growing team and support a wide range of conservation and environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct rare plant surveys and threatened and endangered species habitat assessments
- Perform native plant community mapping and classification
- Complete wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations
- Survey for and document invasive species and develop management recommendations
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation for agency submittals
What Youβll Work On
This is a primarily field-based role with extensive travel throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and surrounding states. You will work in diverse natural communities - from prairie remnants and oak savannas to northern bogs and riparian corridors - contributing directly to the conservation of the Upper Midwestβs natural heritage.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Botany, Plant Ecology, or closely related field - 3-5 years of field experience conducting botanical surveys in the Upper Midwest - Proficiency in plant identification for Minnesota and surrounding states - Experience with wetland delineation methodology (USACE 1987 Manual) - Valid driver's license and ability to work in remote field conditions
