About the Position
Vestas Wind Systems is the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer with over 185 GW of installed capacity globally. Our blade service division keeps turbines operating at peak efficiency across the UK. We are looking for an experienced Blade Repair Technician to join our South West England service team based in Bristol.
Responsibilities
- Inspect wind turbine blades using rope access and platform techniques
- Perform structural and cosmetic repairs to composite blade surfaces
- Document damage findings and repair work using digital reporting systems
- Carry out preventive maintenance programs on onshore wind farms
- Mentor junior technicians and support their GWO training development
What You’ll Work On
You will travel to wind farm sites across South West England and South Wales, performing blade inspections and repairs on Vestas V90, V110, and V150 turbine models. The role involves working at height in all weather conditions and requires a strong safety mindset. Vestas provides industry-leading training and a clear career progression pathway into senior technical or supervisory roles.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in composite repair, mechanical engineering, or related trade - 2+ years experience in blade repair or composite manufacturing - GWO Basic Safety Training and Working at Heights certification - Ability to work at heights up to 150m and in confined spaces - Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across South West England
