About the Position

BYD Europe operates across 20+ European countries, providing zero-emission transportation solutions to public transit agencies, logistics companies, and fleet operators.
As a Commercial EV Technical Support Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for BYD’s next-generation electric trucks and vans in the UK market. You will provide expert-level support to dealers, fleet operators, and internal teams on all aspects of commercial EV technology.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and diagnostics for BYD’s electric truck and van platforms
- Train dealer technicians and fleet mechanics on high-voltage EV systems
- Conduct field investigations for warranty claims and quality issues
- Liaise with BYD headquarters engineering teams on product improvements
- Support pre-delivery inspections and vehicle commissioning for fleet customers
What You’ll Work On
- Building BYD’s commercial EV aftersales capability in the UK market
- Developing technical training materials for the UK dealer network
- Supporting the rollout of new electric truck and van models across the UK
- Collecting and analyzing field quality data to drive continuous product improvement
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in technical support or field service engineering for commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of high-voltage electric drivetrain systems, battery management, and charging infrastructure
- Experience with vehicle diagnostics software and CAN bus protocols
- Full UK driving licence
