About the Position
BYD Europe is the first overseas subsidiary of BYD, the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer. The European R&D team develops sustainable product and technology roadmaps, working on advanced fully electric vehicles tailored to the European market. BYD Europe is rapidly expanding across the continent with operations in over 20 countries.
As a Vehicle Integration Engineer, you will work in BYD’s European R&D department to ensure that full-electric passenger vehicles meet European customer expectations and regulatory requirements. You will bridge the gap between the China-based design teams and European market needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, analysis, and evaluation of BYD’s electric mobility products for the European market
- Coordinate vehicle-level integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems
- Manage European homologation and type-approval processes
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams on product adaptation
- Support field quality analysis and provide technical feedback to headquarters
What You’ll Work On
- Localizing BYD’s electric vehicle platform for European regulations and customer preferences
- Conducting user experience research and competitive benchmarking across European markets
- Supporting the launch of new EV models in key European markets
- Developing testing and validation procedures aligned with EU standards
Requirements
- MSc in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in vehicle integration, systems engineering, or EV development
- Experience with vehicle-level testing, validation, and homologation in European markets
- Knowledge of European automotive regulations (UNECE, EU type approval)
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
