As an Offshore Marine Biologist, you will lead environmental monitoring and biodiversity programs associated with Orstedβs offshore wind farm portfolio in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. You will ensure that ecological considerations are integrated into project design and operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage marine environmental monitoring programs for offshore wind farms
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and habitat assessments
- Analyze ecological data and publish findings in internal reports and scientific journals
- Advise project development teams on marine environmental constraints and mitigation measures
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities on environmental permits and compliance
What Youβll Work On
- Leading Orstedβs reef enhancement and biodiversity net-gain programs
- Studying the impacts of offshore wind construction on marine mammal behavior
- Developing nature-inclusive design guidelines for offshore wind foundations
- Collaborating with academic partners on long-term ecosystem monitoring studies
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, or Oceanography
- 3-5 years of experience in marine environmental assessment
- Experience with environmental impact assessments for offshore developments
- Knowledge of EU marine environmental legislation (Marine Strategy Framework Directive)
- Fieldwork experience including offshore survey campaigns
